Asbestos has been long gone.

Most are soft metal oxides (zinc, manganese, iron) with aluminosilicate whiskers (ceramic) and brass/bronze/copper filings.

Every time Keith answers something, I put it into google search to see if he's just a google-fu expert.

So far I've found no evidence of it.

I think he's using a scrambler of some sort.  Picks out multiple hits and compiles them.  Makes his google-fu untraceable.

Actually its mostly organic material. Different types of foam. Some metal shavings. Kinda like ground up pencil erasers. Its pressed in a mold then placed into a heated 15 ton press along with the metal backing plate (disc pads). Sorry for lack of info. alot of the ingredients are propritary. I worked for a brake pad manufacturer for a few months.

New cars have electromagnets for brakes.

When you step on the brake pedal, current is applied to the rotors, the pads are drawn to the rotors and the car stops.

no shit
