I promised a photo of something other than wine (okay there is a Port). I had to dust off some of these bottles so it didn't look so crummy. Here's the home bar, sans wine. Not much top shelf here at the moment. I drank it all last summer and fall. https://www.AR15.Com/media/mediaFiles/118038/The_bar_for_arfcom-470984.jpg View Quote |

I was out of Weller so I made the rounds last week and managed to score a couple bottles and picked up a couple other Bourbons.
Attached File Visiting my mom this weekend a couple states away and hit a small town liquor store. They had some Weller at a decent price so I picked up a couple more bottles. Attached File |

Great weekend! Just spent last Thursday/Friday and Saturday hitting the Bourbon Trail. Stayed in downtown Louisville at the Seelbach Hotel. Hit Bulleit (Stitzel-Weller) Thursday. Buffalo Trace and Woodford Reserve on Friday. Jim Beam, Makers Mark and Heaven Hill on Saturday. Great dinner in Bardstown at The Rick House. Sunday at the Knob Creek Machine Gun Shoot. The pic is the stash I came home with. Most of the MM Mint Julep and Bourbon Cream are for friends. Had no intention of bringing back so much Woodford Reserve as most of my tastes come from the Buffalo Trace line. |

Can't recall where I got the green one or the Michelob bottle. But I do remember I found the vodka bottle in my great grad father's she'd down the river cabin and was able to keep it. |

My depleted liquor cabinet is unworthy of a pic. I need to restock.
I’m down to a small bottle of suntory, some Makers, and Woodford reserve. I believe that for perhaps the first time in a decade, I have no single malt scotch (from Scotland) and no Irish whiskey of any kind. Sad. |

Quoted: Its pretty good, especially if you like Rye. *edit* I just had some of the Blantons (still my favorite, at this point), followed up by some Templeton. Templeton has a nice smooth flavor with that after burn you get with the rye, but not too bad. In my opinion. It’s not as complex and flavorful as the Blantons but not bad.*/edit* I’d like to pick up something new to try. Out of the following which one should be my next to pick up? -Buffalo Trace (this was my original “next”, but willing to try something else first) -Four Roses Small batch -Woodford Reaserve -Bulleit -Elijah Craig 12y -Makers 46 (Is it better then the standard makers?) View Quote Makers 46 is def better than standard Makers, but with a bit more spice. BT is damn good for the price, but a step down from Blantons Elijah Craig 12 is another really good for the price, but haven't seen an age stamped "12" in awhile, they all say "small batch" now. Another vote for Double Oaked if you go Woodford, unless you don't care for the smoky oak flavor. I never got into 4 Roses line, many love it, I just like others more. Bulleit makes great Rye at a great price, but the Bourbon hits me as harsh/burn. |
