At work (AV Dept.) we were given a project to prepare for a convention booth. They wanted a "Power Point" type of display.
One of the guys came up with a nice interactive touch screen setup. You can select from various menu buttons for info pages and photos. That is all fine until I was told that the director was picking pictures from magazines that she wants us to include. I asked my supervisor "Has anyone ever explained Copyright Infringement to her?" My supervisor said that she does not care. I was not assigned the project, so I was unconcerned. Until today. My dept. supervisor went on vacation and the material was not given to us until it was too late and so I was asked to help photoshop the pictures. "Just get rid of the writing and fix the corners"... where the Director had torn them from magazines. I told the temporary supervisor "No, is there anything else I can help you with?" He tried to call the boss but there was no answer. There are plenty of online photo services and, for a small fee, you can get all the pictures that you can eat! We will see what happens today. |
