OK, I installed Black Ice about a week ago. Since I’ve installed it I’ve only had 3 suspicious events happen. I was expecting to have more attempts on my computer since I am hooked up to DSL all the time. Does this sound normal? Am I overly paranoid? Is there any way to tell if I fubared the installation of the software? Anyone? [red]Libertas an Mortis!![/red] |

[red]Libertas an Mortis!![/red] Sounds normal, but mine was attacked more than that when I ran Black Ice Defender. Then I found out that is really didn't protect very well and could be penetrated by Gibsons Shields UP http://grc.com/intro.htm so I now use the free version of Zone Alarm and I use a Linksys Router. |

Weird... I'm running Black Ice Defender on my server which is hooked up to a cable modem. I check it with Gibson's Shield's Up every other week or so and it isn't able to get through at all. It did get through once right after an upgrade to Black Ice, but I checked the settings and found that the settings had somehow defaulted to the lowest security level. Pushed them back up to a "medium" setting and everything was fine then. |
