I have heard of a computer software you can use to determine the video settings of a TV for the best picture. Does anybody have one or used one? I think my TV has greater picture potential than what I am looking at, but setting everything is like guessing a lock's combination.

It's not computer software, it is an actual DVD. Go to Amazon or any other DVD seller and search for Avia or Video Essentials (my favorite). Not only will it give you the test screens to let you calibrate your TV, it also gives you audio tones to let you calibrate your sound system. All you need is an SPL meter to accomplish the audio part.

I'd go w/ the Blu-ray player and the disc at the link myself.
