I had a feeling this might happen. I'm grateful to God we were in a position to have got two. They're honestly some of my favorite firearms, regardless of type. I kinda wish we had got three, but I knew my wife would think I'd gone nuts.  Yes, there's always aftermarket mods, and goodness knows some folks seemingly replace most all their components with mixes of non-OE parts, and that's fine, and I don't hate freedom. but I'm a weird dude that keeps everything OE configuration, including autos. I'm one of the five here that still like manual safeties on pistols LOL. And I'm one of the like three or four here that prefer the pistol grip version of the 1301, too. I sure hope the new administration can reel in the FAFT and its total insanity. |

| The letter from Beretta says recent ATF regulations prevent importation of certain Italian made parts needed in the 1301 Tactical 7-shot. I assume that's just the magazine or magazine extension. Does anyone know what new regulations ATF published on this? I suppose it could affect all firearms made with a mix of US and imported parts. |

Says Customs Bonded Warehouses and Foreign Trade Zone can only be used for certain statutorily defined activities, e.g., storage or destruction, and does not include altering firearms from a non-sporting form to a sporting form. |

The one I just got is still unfired, price just went up to $3k, I know what I got. This is really silly of BATF. Barrel, receiver, bolt carrier group...all of it is made in Italy. I'm not sure who makes the polymer furniture, but I presume some Beretta owned subsidiary. |

The guns do go to Gallatin and get inspected and probably get the Mod2 polymer parts there. When I was in the Gallatin factory in 12/23 there were a boatload of 1301 Mod2 guns there on the racks waiting for packaging, but I didn't see them getting assembled to know. |

Plus the serial # on multiple parts. Just like every made in Italy Beretta I own. None of my Maryland Berettas are so marked. Attached File |

Can't comment on the 590, but I've got a JM930 Pro Tactical that i put a Mesa Tactical Urbino stock/grip on, and that thing is a beast. It's way heavier than the 1301, but the mag capacity is stupid high, and I've never, ever had it jam or even hiccup on the range. But I do clean it after each use. I know GD hates em, but man I love it, and it's a keeper for me.  ETA - yes, we're blessed to have two 1301Ts that I adore, but those have not diminished the love I have for the JM. It's just a bit of a different animal in my mind. Also, I think the 930 is old news and they are now making em as the 940, I believe.  |
