Wife uses an Aspire tank with 0.5 and 1.0  ohm coils.  She had three CF Sub Ohm batteries, none of which has lasted for more than six months.

I am interested in getting her a battery with removable cells that can be charged in a standard charger (standard rechargeable batter type) and also with the EGO USB chargers she has been using with wall-warts.  They make a CF Sub model with removable cells that isn't too expensive.  But when when I go to amazon to buy the cells, the confusion arises.  I am most concerned that she not become another local news headline about an Ecig battery exploding in her hand.  So I am totally confused on what cells to buy to work with varying ohm ratings on her coils.  Half the amazon reviews are good, the other half say the batteries they are getting are made in China crap and are dangerous etc.

Can anyone recommend a battery/cell combo that is safe and compatible?

Thanks.

I'd personally skip batteries on Amazon.

Get them from reputable places like illumn.com.  Samsung 25r and LG HG2 are quality batteries that will easily handle what she's using.  For a mod, I'd recommend an IPV D3.  It's what I use.  No issues at all.  Nice and small, too.  Probably one of the smallest removable 18650 mods on the market.

Edit: Re-read your post.  I see you already have a mod in mind.

I agree. I have 12 of the Samsung 25r's that I use in my vape as well as my tac lights. 4 of them are 15 months old and still charge up with no issues.

Batteries don't usually just blow up without adding human error. Using an unregulated mod when one has no idea how to build proper ohm coils is a good way to drain a battery faster than it was designed to handle which will cause a meltdown. Another issue is when people just throw a fully charged batter or two into their pocket with a set of keys or some other metal item(s).
