Ok I had just bought a mic sevveral weeks ago that had been working great and made the game a lot more enjoyable to play, but now it seems for whatever reason my squad can hear me, but I can't hear any of my squad. As far as I can tell all of my in game audio settings are set correctly and I haven't muted anyone. Any of you guys have any ideas what would cause this to happen?

I wish I could help, but I actually have the opposite problem. My squad mates can't hear me but I can hear them.

I can hear you gerber, but you are really soft. When shooting/flying/driving a tank its hard to hear you.

As for ctprelude, I'm not sure. never had that problem. Try reintalling BF2?

Right click on volume icon in system tray. Go to "Adjust Audio Properties", then click on "Advanced" under the Device Volume area. Then click on "Advanced" under the Microphone setting. You should see the option for the mic boost. However, not all sounds cards support this.
