My son will be doing his check ride soon. We want to get some headsets for him if my wife or I want to fly with him or if he wants to take some passengers along. Are there any significantly cheaper than David Clark H10-30s that won't just wind up being uncomfortable after an hour or so that still work well enough? Thanks for the help. I know nothing about this stuff. |
| In the world of headsets, those David Clark’s are already pretty inexpensive. I can’t imagine anything cheaper being as or more comfortable. If you’re just going for a ride, it really won’t matter. But if you’re going on a trip, headset comfort is huge. I’ve been a Lightspeed guy for a long time but those are much more expensive. And way more comfortable. |

I have not heard of any. Standard answer is David Clark. I bought the set for my passengers used for a better price as they are often for sale by people upgrading their headsets. FYI: I keep a pair of comfortable shooting type earmuffs in the plane at all times in case I forget the passenger set. Not good for conversations but my son didn't care while playing video games on a 2 hour flight. |

@cttb Go to Marv Golden and scroll through the choices. I bought FARO Passive sets to use for back seat passengers when I had an Aztec twin. They work fine for that purpose. I had another David Clark for the right seat passenger. |
