...So, will my auto insurance rate go down now that I'm going to be taxed for the healthcare of the injured anyway?
It stands to reason but reason doesn't really matter now -does it?

no, and here is why.

If you hit me and injure me, then your bodily injury liability coverage is to pay for my damages through your auto policy.  If your policy does not have enough coverage to pay for my damages, then I can sue you personally.  If I use my health insurance to cover the extra expenses not covered by you, rest assured the health insurance company will sue you personally for the difference.  You caused the damage, so you will pay for it.

I am an insurance agent, both for health insurance and for property and casualty (auto, home, business etc)

Yes, but what if insurance companies are no longer held liable for traffic accident injuries and instead only the deductibles for treating the patients (since everyone has health insurance now, only deductibles will need to be met)

the insurance companies are never liable for that.

If you hit me, then you need to fix me.  End of story.  Insurance accepts your liability for a fee, since they figure you are not likely to incur such a loss.  Insurance will not pay for someone else's mistake.  The person at fault must pay.

Dude if you live in FLa, that is wrong. You only get BI when you exhaust your PIP.

That's not necessarily how it works. If you hit and injure somebody, and they use their health insurance to pay the medical bills, their insurance company has, under the right of recovery doctrine, to file a claim against you/your insurance to reclaim what they paid out due to your actions.

The word you are looking for is subrogation.

I answered his question using the "keep it simple, stupid" doctrine.  PIP is another level of explanation to which I didnt feel like getting into...

but since you went there....

In some states, PIP pays first.  Once that benefit is exhausted, then bodily injury benefits kick in.  So, if you hit me and my personal injury is less than the PIP benefit that I am eligible for, then it will stop there.  If it is higher than the PIP, then PIP will pay up to its limit, and then you are responsible for the rest, either through insurance proceeds or your own pocket.

Soon as they pass the preexisting conditions for car insurance I'm going out to buy a totaled rig. And then claim it.
