my yard is covered in about two inches of acorns, acorns everywhere, when the wind blows it sounds like rocks on a tin roof. anyway, i was wondering if anyone here has ever eaten acorns either as nuts or flour? how do you do it? how does it taste? do you have any recipes?
i figured it would be a shame to let them go to waste! |

If you search, you'll find old Indian recipes for acorns. The big problem is getting the tannin out.

You should talk with Rodent: http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_10_17/660438_Made_bread_out_of_mostly_acorns_tonight_.html |

Koreans make a type of jelly out of acorns. It's tasty.
