We're trying to convert some old training videos from VHS to Digital. We are using a Canopus ADVC-100 to capture the video to a Mac. The problem we are having is that the Videos were encoded with the Macrovision Protection and we need to get around that. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks |

I got the tip below on how to bypass Macrovision at the Canopus support fourms. Do a serch on the forums on Macrovision. Link below as well: http://forum.canopus.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=GenADVC&Number=34843&Forum=GenADVC&Words=Macrovision&Match=Entire%20Phrase&Searchpage=0&Limit=25&Old=allposts&Main=34706&Search=true#Post34843 The ADVC-100 can be set to clean up this dirty signal. Holding the front input select button for about three seconds displays a color test bar pattern. If you keep the select button down until the test pattern clears, roughly about 15 seconds, the ADVC-100 will pass clean any signal with MacroVision like interference. This 'cleaning' mode will remain in effect until the unit is powered down. |
