I have owned mine for over a year but only flown it once.  Headed to Maui next month and I bought a hard case to bring it along.  My sister owns some land so I headed over there today to get some practice in.  All went well but back at home watching the video, it flickers.  Not props getting in the way at the top, it just ever so slightly flickers the whole image.  I don't want to post up video as it's over her house, land, barn and a bunch of her property. I can probably get to somewhere anonymous tomorrow and record again but I was wondering if it's possibly some setting in the camera.

The drone and the transmitter are on the latest firmware (updated today before I flew).  I was flying right around sunset (I flew 20 mins, it started getting dark as I was packing up), might that have something to do with it or is the camera possibly defective?

I found a video that sort of does what I saw in mine, this is not mine but same thing:

It doesn't really look like it is flickering. More like the ISO setting is being changed at random.  Is your ISO set on automatic or a constant setting.  If on auto it may change on you which will cause the light to adjust on it as the lighting conditions change.

That is my first guess based on the video you provided. Any additional info that specifically describes your issue would help.

I took a small example from the video that doesn't show anything useful.  This is the flickering I am talking about.  It's most apparent in the first few seconds.

Just curious...are Li-po batteries allowed on commercial aircraft?

Interesting. Mine doesn't have any of that effect.  P3A here too.

Could be the camera mount, could be a flaw.  Might even be related to the lighting.

Here is a second example of the flicker:

Of course they are.

Looks like it is adjusting to the lighting.

My P3 does it when I move in and out of shadows

I will fly in a public field tomorrow, if it does it again I will post a 20ish min video of it,  which will be a much better example and in full sunlight.  I hope my camera is not screwed .

Looks to me like it is adjusting shutter speed or ISO like was stated above.

Set it to manual if the auto exposure is screwing you up. Also get a good filter set. Something with a circular polarizer. PolarPro makes some decent stuff for the Phantom line.

Either we have different definitions of flickering or I'm blind  .  Didn't see it in any of the videos you posted.

You must have a better eye for that than me. I'm looking hard to see what you're talking about and barely noticing a thing in your videos.

This. I have 2 P3s and you generally want to run filters for video, esp on bright days. Polar Pros are great.

Like others have said, its jumping exposure while in auto. You can also touch the area of the screen that you want the camera to meter off of and exposure lock it to keep it from jumping. the AE is just to the left of the cameral settings under the battery status.

ND filters are a must. The general rule for video is to try and get the shutter speed to 2x the frame rate. So if your shooting in 1080p at 60fps, you would want the shutter speed to be in the 120 range. After a while you'll learn what ND filter would work for the given condition. On a bright day, with no ND filter, the shutter speed may be trying to get into the 800-1600 range. Add a ND16 or an ND32, and the shutter speed should come down to the 120 range.
