Since my name is Antenna, I thought we could have a little sit down together and post pictures of antennas. I'll start. https://i.ytimg.com/vi/Jo1QoVgsaLk/maxresdefault.jpg http://www.vk6fh.com/vk6fh/fractal1.PNG http://www.neaspec.com/assets/Application-Analyzing-optical-antennas.jpg http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2011/03/3d-antenna-2011-03-18-450.jpg http://www.nature.com/nmat/journal/v9/n3/images/nmat2630-f3.jpg http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-2n_JBIzH7S4/TaXXLHu4pvI/AAAAAAAAAKw/VmvOrOTSDqs/s1600/SBX_HAARP.jpg http://mymobilebooster.com/wp-content/uploads/In-Building-Distributed-Antenna-System-DAS.jpg https://i.ytimg.com/vi/GdAWXC6ONBY/hqdefault.jpg What's it like feeling so lonely that you have to constantly open new accounts here? Is life that bad for you? Are you that desperate for attention? Maybe someone can point out where you can get the help you desperately seek. |

Have you tried to make a cellphone call from there... ![]() |

Have you tried to make a cellphone call from there... LOL. Luckily, my place is just far enough away from there that I can hit one AT&T tower. |

Other than the Earth itself. ![]() I think installations like VLA and the Owen's Valley interferometer qualify as larger than Arrecibo. Isn't there also a NASA arrangement that links several dishes around the globe to make an RF interferometer almost as large as the Earth? |

Isn't there also a NASA arrangement that links several dishes around the globe to make an RF interferometer almost as large as the Earth? Eh, I was thinking of single antennas. I think the largest (in the near future) will be the Square Kilometer Array being built in Australia and South Africa. |

Wow, I have been meaning to ask this question for years, but never knew who to ask. Maybe someone in this thread could help me. I see this type of flat panel antenna on the sides of buildings all over the place. The buildings could be commercial or even apartment buildings. What are they used for? http://www.antennamgt.com/wp-content/gallery/genaral-antenna-gallery/img_1812-1024x768.jpg Cell towers. If I remember correctly.. the middle ones are the transmitters and the ones on the periphery are the receivers. Cell towers have a dual purpose. One, they serve as... cell towers, relaying the digital signals to and from phones, but they also transmit low frequency pulses that can be triangulated to a particular headset from multiple towers, creating a constructive interference that affects the nervous system of the target. You can disrupt the thoughts of a person. This is how they control the "hundredth monkey effect" in the human population. |

So the cell companies just rent space on the side of random buildings to improve their reception in that area? |
