For some reason, I can't get the thing to work. It says: We are unable to sign you into MSN Messenger, possibly because of a problem with your Internet connection. Please try again later. 0x81000370 My internet seems to be working fine. The only thing I can think of is that some program is blocking it. Weird thing with Norton Internet Security though - every time I go to the Internet Access Control screen, I can't scroll to see what is blocked and unblocked. However, I see "Messenger" (with the MSN logo next to it) and it says "Permit All". The only other thing I can see is that there is something wrong with my email address. For some reason, I can't sign into Hotmail either. It seems to work fine on Elad's computer, though. I hit 'Sign in' or 'I forgot my password' (which I didn't, I'm just trying to get through), and it immediately goes to "This Page Cannot Be Displayed". It's very odd - there is no loading time going to it, it is instant. I have tried reinstalling MSN Messenger 6.1 several times to no avail. Hopefully someone here can help. Thanks for reading. |

Quoted: Try disabling NIS all together and test. or Load Trillian and see if it works. http://download.com.com/3000-2150-10047473.html?part=trillian&subj=dlpagtag=button I agree with this, Norton has a bad habit of getting in the way of connections. When I uninstalled my Norton, all my internet connections worked great. |

It still doesn't seem to explain why I am unable to log onto hotmail or any other passport sites... |

I have learned that you have to remove norton totally from you system. I found this out at work, when I worked for the automation group I had to deal with this all the time. I would install "company software" which included Norton and I would have huge issues. I would un-install Norton, re-install the software (without Norton) and everything would work. Remove Norton and try. |
