When sipped neat, has a pleasant, light initial flavor. Prominent flavor notes (to my untrained palate) are caramel, notes of salted pecans, and a hint of dates. But, the initial taste rapidly gives way to a bizarre thinning sensation where it takes on a somewhat "chemical" flavor, reminiscent of 20 monutes after a Listerine mouthwash. I'm going to try it again when I haven't already had a glass of wine and an IPA, and this was the neck pour as well. I think it's possible the 86 proof (as opposed to the standard 80) might have something to do with it. I might also give it a few drops of water and see if that makes a significant difference. I did try a drink of water between sips, which usually offers a different perspective, but I still get that harsh finish. I'm not quite ready to say I'm disappointed yet, but anyone who thinks this is the best whiskey they ever had, needs to sip some cheap white label Jim Beam from a Glencairn glass.  ETA this stuff is probably great as a mixer due to the higher alcohol content and understated flavor. |

Angel’s Envy is popular, but not one of my favorites. Sipping Michter’s barrel strength rye I had in the shelf and wouldn’t have opened had I known it is (locally at least) unobtainable. |

I don't care for the Bourbon, but the finished rye is almost like a dessert liquor. Very unique, quite sweet for a rye. I'll have it if I can't decide between a Bourbon or a rum. |

I think it was the Rye that a friend had me try, he said it tasted like chicken and waffles and after trying it I felt like that was a pretty decent description. I really liked it, but I also like Skrewball so you know where I’m coming from. |
