anyone else notice their service is getting pretty damn slow?

amazon, like ebay (back in the day) used to be one of THE places to price shop for items

It seems that now it's more miss than hit for pricing, and when you do find an item, it takes them
forever to ship the damn thing

and lets not forget this supersaver shipping BS, where an Item takes 2x(+) longer to get to you.

Ditto.  As a Prime member I often see my things in a single day.  Between the streaming video offered to Prime members and the ridiculously fast delivery of my shit, I'm thinking it was the best $78 I spent last year.  YMMV.

I don't think Amazon has the margins left for ridiculously cheap shipping, and general pricing is probably as low as they can get it.

Get a Prime Account you cheap skate. And if anything with the amount of warehouses that we have (yes, I work for Amazon) shipping times on even regular orders should be speeding up. Make sure before you blame Amazon that your orders aren't being fulfilled by another outside vendor that just simply has product listed on Amazon.

Yep, slower nowadays. I have been buying from out of state vendors though to avoid taxation, probably why it's slower rather than direct from Amazon.

I've had much slower shipping on some items recently. They are using Fedex Smart Post, which is like writing an address on a box, throwing it out your bedroom window and yelling"Good luck!"

I like Amazon and I enjoyed their Prime service I ordered a couple blu-rays a few weeks ago and they were here on the following day and it was free shipping.

Free Prime trial ended I ordered a couple blu-rays on the 30th, paid for 2 day shipping and I get a shipping now status for the past day.

Its beneficial to have Prime.

This would be devastating news from some Internet companies. But Amazon bulls were unfazed, saying the retailer was investing, as always, in the future.

“If they keep this up, there’s a good possibility that you’re looking at shopping malls going the way of the record store and the bookstore and the video rental store,” said Jason Moser, who covers Amazon for the Motley Fool investment site.

I have a hard time finding a better price, on most anything, then what I'd pay on Amazon.

My most recent purchase was estimated to arrive today, at the earliest. It arrived yesterday.

I can't say I've received anything from them that took longer than I expected to get to me. Nothing that was their fault, anyways.

I have nothing bad to say about them and will probably do more business with them in the future. (NON-Prime member, BTW)

I just ordered a bunch of stuff off from Amazon. Half of it was through outside vendors and Yes I choose the free shipping. But I had it sent to where I am going on vacation. Wife and I were thinking about getting prime but we are on the fence. I did get approved for their store card so I'm just happy about that. My credit has been shit for the last couple of years because some asshole using my name and SSN and it wasn't some random hacker it was my old boss. I hope to confront him when i'm there.

I just think shipping and getting the product is slow everywhere. More and more people have the internet where as hell 10 years not as much today.

Amazon offered to ship I book I ordered from them via two-day shipping, if I tried Prime.

I declined.

The book was in my hands at 11AM the next morning. Not the best way to convince me to buy Prime, but it DID make me more impressed with Amazon. They even shipped me a signed copy.

No issues when it come directly from Amazon.  I just completed my free trial of Prime and it was Awesome.  However my wife made me cancel it b/c I was ordering shit just to order it.  I will buy it at a later date when we are not in such a budget crunch.  I know my brother bitches all the time because he lives in Texas and there is a warehouse there and he has to pay taxes on everything he orders.  I on the other hand do not have to pay taxes and everything I was ordering with Prime was showing up very quickly.

I don't do enough business with Amazon to justify paying them to get their attention.

I have been an Amazon customer for years, and until recently, have had a reasonably good experience.

the most recent example, and reason for this thread, is that I ordered something on monday.
it hasn't been shipped yet AND until today, they didn't try and process my order, noting that there was an issue with one of the CC I used
once i was notified, I quickly got it resolved.  why should that process take 3 days?

I've got better service lately using ebay.  I went with amazon for the estimated delivery time... doesn't  look like that'll happen now.

A google search shows that I'm not the only one experiencing these issues.

I can find almost any single item cheaper elsewhere online.  What I can't do is find another site that allows me to buy the same variety of items in one transaction, at a cheaper total price than Amazon.  I have noticed that the FedEx Smartpost shipping isn't as good as UPS but I don't buy anything online that I need in a hurry so it's a non-issue for me.  Amazon is what Walmart should strive to be.

ETA:  I have noticed lately that my "Supersaver" orders take several days to process before they are even shipped.  It's as if they don't bother with them until the day they have to ship to meet the quoted arrival date.

Sitting here waiting on a pair of headphones that should have been here Tuesday (2nd day). Ordered Prime with 2nd day guaranteed.

They've been slow and unresponsive for me, don't really care how everyone else's experience with them is awesome....it doesn't make my experiences any better.

This is my last year of buying a Prime membership. I can do better on Ebay or other vendors, and have begun to transition to them in earnest.

No, it's Amazon. Their shipping time has been pissing me off for a while. Seven or eight days from Arizona to Texas after ordering without having to pay a $79 a year bribe is ridiculous. It's the outside venders that have faster shipping. I've ordered several things from Ebay that previously I would have ordered from Amazon so I could get it sooner.

It helps if you live in the same city as one of their warehouses. If I order something that is sold & shipped by amazon, I can pretty much count on it arriving the same week, even with using super-saver (aka: super-SLOW) shipping. The printer I ordered on Tuesday arrived today. The recoil spring assy for my G19, since it is coming from an outside vendor, will be here sooner or later.

Never had a problem with them.  I'm a prime member, and everything arrives in two days, sometimes one.  I can only remember a couple of times when it took 3 days, and that usually coincided with a large storm somewhere.

I'm also prime and while I have no complaints about the time it takes when shipped, it is the ever increasing "prep time" that is somewhat bothersome.

It used to be for example I'd place an order on a Monday morning, the item would ship that afternoon and I'd have it Wednesday afternoon.

Lately using the same example I will place an order on a Monday morning and they will sit on the order for a day or two. Eventually when the item DOES ship it still is the usual two days to get to me, but with the added "delay" between the order and the shipping it now normally takes an extra 1 to 3 days to get my stuff.

I fully realize this is complete and utter baby wah-wah instant gratification nonsense, but Amazon is definitely slipping little by little.

Yes!

I ordered something with my daughter on a Sunday morning (some girly toy) and it was at my door on Monday afternoon.   It's stupid fast.   I am sure thay just happened to have one in a nearby warehouse, but just damn, the next day?  Crazy stuff.  Free shipping, and a good price on the toy, too.

I fork out for Prime.  It always pays itself off by the end of the year.  I have 4-5 Amazon warehouses within my 2-day and rarely do I ever see an item takes 3 days to arrive.  Should it come to me complaining I often get a $10 credit to my account if I'm unhappy w/ anything shipped by Amazon or any third-party seller that Amazon fulfills.

Most of my orders are fulfilled within 24hrs and take two days to arrive. When the orders take 48 hrs to fulfill, stuff ships next day delivery. Makes no sense to me.

I can't complain about Amazon.com.  I have the Prime and almost always get everything in two days unless it is fulfilled by an outside vendor.  I live in the middle of no where, the nearest large store is a 44 mile round trip via back roads.  That would cost about $12.00 in gas just to drive.  I get free shipping with Prime so it is a no brainer.

Amazon checkout has an option to use my cash rewards from Discover card for purchases.  I use a Discover card for everything, even utilities at my house so I always have cash back rewards balance available.

One item I bought from Amazon didn't work for me and they refunded the price plus my return shipping was free.

Recently I ordered something that turned out to be complete junk, they refunded my money and said keep the item.

If you have a Kindle, you can download some good books for free and you can also borrow some books from others.

With Prime you can watch some movies and TV series for free with a Roku or your computer.  Not a great choice but I do watch some things.
