How much alteration is too much alteration?

I have some old suits, from before I got married and fat, that don't fit anymore but could be let out.

Two of the jackets are 40-Regular, and now I'm a 44-Regular, bordering on 46-Regular.

Is it worth the effort, assuming there is enough material, or just donate them and move on?

I don't often wear suits...just for weddings, funerals, and court appearances , but have an occasion coming up and need to look good.  Working out between now and then isn't going to get it done and liposuction is not an option.

You cant increase shoulder size. If a jacket doesn't fit there it never will (that goes for too big or too small).

Even if there is it's unlikely to be in the right places. 6" is a lot to find, and it will likely cost more than a new suit unless it has a Brioni label in it.

As others have said, best to move on my man.
