| I'm 2.5 steps away from becoming a LEO. I've gotten through the written exam, polygraph, psych eval, and first review board. All I've got left is the background, a second review board, and a physical abilities test (that's the half step, which I have no doubt I will pass). My background is 100% clean, my credit is great, and I'm on good terms with previous employers and references. I've got my police science degree and speak excellent spanish. I don't want to get my hopes up too much, but with all that, I feel pretty confident that I'll be wearing blue in the near future. Just thought I'd let you all know since I'm pretty excited about everything. MJD |
No, not yet. I guess that's the third step. Around here, most departments swear their new officers in and give them a badge and gun before they send them to the academy. Kinda strange, but that's how it works. They just don't let them on the street before they're certified. MJD

They do that here too. Except start FTO with them right away then when an academy slot opens up they go. |
