| My 4.0 V6 FI Ranger 4X4 made it to 248,000 and then I sold it. That was over a year ago and people still see it around. Only thing I did to it was new radiator/hoses around 200,000 and adn a couple of 02 sensors to get ride of a CEL before I sold it. Damn thing didn't have any leaks or burn any oil. Couldn't believe it made it that far. |

Around here, rust is the limiting factor, not mileage. Bodies rust out long before major running gear.
Not long ago, 100K miles was the death mileage for most 4 cylinder engines 150K for sixes, and 200K for well-maintained V-8s. Times have changed. Most of all advanced lubricants, and electronic engine controls. No more forgetting to dis-engage the manual choke. No more having the ignition points get out of adjustment. No more having carbs give the engine what it wants instead of what it needs. Electronic engine controls, in addition to reducing exhaust emissions, have allowed most mfrs to vastly increase the output of their engines, The tree-huggers have done us a favor, although unintended. They hate cars, and personal transportation more than ever, make no mistake. That is the fundamental point, Mass transit is their goal. |

First truck, 2011 Freightliner, had 750k+ miles before getting a new one. Which was a 2015 Freightliner that had 225k before getting a new Peterbilt a month ago which currently has just over 20k. We slip-seat so our trucks run about 800-1000 miles a day. It only sits idle on my two night shifts off.
My personal truck, 2007 Dodge Ram, only has 90k miles. |

Had a 93 astro van, odo stopped around 360,000 miles. Drove it for almost 3 years after that. Dumbass friend borrowed it for a day and ran it out of oil, killed it. Probably had around 380,00 - 390,000 miles at the time. I'm sure it would've ran past 400K. RIP sparky |
