What’s y’all’s accuracy expectations/experience for a mechanical watch? I have several Tudors. For the most part, they’re well within COSC parameters. I’m wearing this one right now, I have been all week. It’s currently -1 second since I pulled it out and set it Sunday night. Attached File Both of my Omegas run about a second or two per week. (Early Co-axial seamaster and a new production Speedmaster) My Rolexes struggle sometimes. The last few times I wore my deep sea, it was flirting with -6/7 per day. What are y’all’s expectations? I’m not terribly anal about it, but I do like to see things function properly. (I do not store my watches on winders) |

I believe Rolex specs -2/+2 seconds per day for their watches, maybe a service is in order for your Deep Sea. I prefer that my watches run fast instead of slow. Faster/easier to correct the time when it’s needed. These are the watches I have been tracking lately. I rotate through them daily, sometimes several per day, so it’s a mixture of wear time and watch box time.

Expectations are per manufacturer and movement quality. My Bulova is faster than my Rolex. 2024 Bulova Wilton is within spec at 8 spd fast. 2024 Aquis 733 is better than spec sub 4 spd fast. 2014 Chris Ward GMT is also sub 4 spd fast. 2002 Rolex DJ is 1.8 spd fast. I would be disappointed if a watch was outside manufacture’s spec. |

When I have them on, I just feel different (in a good way, of course) New or not, i would get the Rolexes serviced if they are off by 6 spd. My Oris was off by 8-9 spd new. I sent it off for service within a month of purcahse. Now sub 4 spd. Under warranty, it wont cost you anything but time. It will give you a chance to wear those forgotten watches in your stable. |

You can also tweak long term accuracy by changing the watch’s position during storage. In general, dial up = faster, crown up = slower. My Sprite runs slightly fast during normal wear, but storing it crown-up overnight completely offsets it to the point that I never have to correct it. Attached File |

I started an accuracy test on my new OP 41 last thursday. When i synced with Time.IS i was about a 1/2 sec or so off. But in a week, that will come out in the average. I need to get a timegrapher. |

I've actually never tested mine, but haven't noticed them running exceptionally fast or slow. I work from home tho, so I only wear my watches if I leave the house after work and on the weekends so I'm always winding and setting before wearing. SIDE NOTE....I've seen that Black Bay 68 with the blue dial in person and it's AMAZING!! I wish my wrist was big enough to wear it!!! |

Last years i had a Chris Ward that suddenly went to 10+ spd fast. The suddeness, made me think that maybe it was a magnetism issue. I ordered $12 demganatizer from amazon. After the demagnization, i synced the time. 5 days later, it was sub 4 spd fast. That is way better than CW spec. I bought a new watch last week that was out of spec by a couple of seconds. I demagged it. It is now at -1.8 spd now. Well within spec. Start cheap. I am convinced that demag first will fix many accuracy issues. Anytime i can prevent a service or shipping a watch is a good thing. |

I’m at 12 or 13 days since pulling this one out and setting it, wearing it every day since. I always take it off at night, its orientation overnight is random. It is currently 3 seconds fast according to the clock on my iPhone (which is what I always use to set my watches) Attached File |
