| I am thinking about upgrading my computer. I was reading about mother boards and came across the term Ultra DMA. What is Ultra DMA? How does it differ from ATA? Are they compliant? |
| Ultra DMA (also known as Ultra ATA) is an improvement of the original ATA hard disk interface. It allows for higher data transfer rates and improved data integrity. The specification is backwards-compatible, so older ATA drives will work when connected to an Ultra DMA controller. Hope this helps. |
