500-Pound Man Involved In Head-On Collision
SHENANGO TWP, Pa. –– Emergency responders had to call a special-size medical helicopter to the scene of a car crash involving a severely overweight victim.
Medics were called to the accident on Route 422 in Shenango Township, Lawrence County, where police say two pickup trucks were involved in a head-on collision. According to police, one of the drivers weighted more than 500 pounds. Part of Route 422 was closed for about an hour while crews cleaned up. The victim’s condition was not available. |

Air Evac will laugh at you if you call them for a scene flight on somebody that big Ask me how I know.![]() I'd be interested. What happened? On a multi car MVA waaaay out in the county, one of the Pt's was rather large + - 450 and circling the drain. One of the other medics wanted to call Air Evac since we had to extricate him and where more than 20 min from the closest ED. I called the bird and when they asked for a Est. weight I said errr ummm more than 400 lbs, the dispatcher laughed and said, "How much ??????" MORE THAN 400 closer to 500 probably. She said Sorry call Baptist Lifeflight they have bigger helicopters. hahahaha
