What kind of auxiliary lights do you have on the frontend of your truck. KC,Hella,Lightforce.......

I don't have anything on my 08 Ford, but my on my 85 Blazer I wired the high beams to light all 4 lights and used some bulbs from eBay. It been too many years to remember what or where, but those damned lights are bright as shit.

Hella 9000's

ETA

Oh yeah these are fed from  dual Yellow top optima's and a 200 amp GM alternator...
Headlights are Hella Euro bulbs with a ARB headlight/Relay harness to feed em full power from the alternator...you'd be suprised how much of a difference it made to em...

DO I use em much wheelin...No, I mostly use em when I have a 3-4 am concrete pour on a jobsite

Nice front porch on your truck there.

I agree with the first reply, get the "4-Hi mod" so you can activate high and low beams at the same time. That's usually sufficient as a bandaid for a while.

None when I had a Jeep and none now that I have a taco, that bumper probably weighs as much or more than my trucks engine.  You could hit an elephant with that thing and it would probably not even get a dent.

Cheap as shit wal-mart specials I bought in high school cause I thought they looked tough. They aren't.

I've heard good things about Lightforce, and obviously Hella. Post some more pics of the truck!

I got a pair of Hella 500FF on the front of my jeep, got em at walmart for $60 or $65. Got em cause I figure if I smash em they won't be too much replace.

Lightforce are awesome and Hellas are great lights also.

On my trail rig I have plain old KC lights.   Hard to argue with a 23 year warranty:

How hard are they to install, and could I install them on a stock vehicle, without any problems with bat drain? Furthermore, how would I wire bakcup lights and front lights? On the same circuit or what?

Speaker HIDs that I got for cost through a mechanic at work.  They are wicked, but very pricey if you buy them direct.

Lightforce lights are insanely bright. Also the beam is adjustable from a full flood to a pencil spot. Interchangeable lens covers (read: IR) are sweet as well.

Not hard to wire up just make sure you use a relay.

That'd be pretty awesome if you had the NVGs to go with them..that would be priceless on a BOV. I see alot of pictures of our SOF trucks with IR lights on the front, that shit is bad ass.

I do have NVG's to go with them which is one reason I went with Lightforce. Since I live in the middle of nowhere, I often drive with em on some of the back roads. Just wire the lights independent of the high beams with a separate switch.

That's a pretty slick winch setup there. Does that actually replace the center section of the bumper?

Hella 4000 times three on a custom light bar

Light bar is about to come off and an All Pro bumper will go on, retaining two of the Hellas.  I'm then going to add a roof rack with 4 more Hella 4000's on it up top.

Hella 4000's. Mounted on top of the front bumper with no covers for 3+ years and they still haven't broke or died. Not the brightest in the world but they do their job on the cheap.

I have two kragen 4" HIDs on the bumper of my FJ.  They are bright and they were only $109 each.  I can't find any more of the 4" but the 7" are available out there.  they are absolutely the most inexpensive HIDs and they are bright.

They haven't broken yet, and I really am not ready to spending hundreds on good ones.

+1 on the PIAAs.

Mounted on a Dodge Ram, in a Buckstop bumper.

I had some Hella 550FF's mounted on my front bumper.  Unfortunately after only a year of offroading in Colorado the damn piece of shit plastic mounts cracked.  And once the mount cracks the lights fall right off.  I'm sorry but the HELLA mounts seem awfully cheap, when after driving rough roads etc the mounts break and the light falls off.  Now mind you, I never hit anything, this is just from driving hundreds of miles of forest roads all over Colorado in a year.

I think next go round I'll get some Lightforce lights and see how they treat me.  The hellas seem like bottom shelf disposable lights.  I know I'll never buy anymore.

Hopefully you boys running Hellas have better luck than I did.

ETA:  You can see how I had my lights mounted on my avatar.  At the time I took that picture they hadnt yet went to shit.

Use heavy duty wire and switches as well; you'll lose a lot of power to cheap wire and switches.

Spotter? What's that?  Aside from my dad, nobody else wheels their truck that I hang out with. I agree completely. They're definitely useful, just not for me.

Has anybody ever put some LED-type lights underneath? I do want some under my framerails and in my wheel wells when I have to turn wrenches in the dark since it's dark by like 5:30 now.

there are pre-made kits out there for around $100 bucks just search for LED rock lights. just have to make sure they are in a safe spot underneath because I would probably smash and knock them all off the first trip out
