We walk a fine line with some aspects of this forum. While some of you may not like it, staff has handed down certain rules. They are easy enough, but I'll spell them out. NOTE: These rules are subject to change should conditions warrant such a change. 1: Lightning Links, DIAS, SWIFT links, UZI kickers, bump stocks, illegal devices, etc., ALL NFA items: No linking to websites containing files for or directly to files for said types of devices. Example: no linking to a file for say a pistol slide, but the site also contains files for illegal/NFA items. This rule is basically CoC #3 for 3D printing. As a reminder, CoC #3 states: "Posting or linking to information on how to make illegal modifications to firearms or purchase illegal items". Since an STL/CAD file is basically all you need to make a part, directly linking to STL/CAD files of NFA/illegal items or to a website containing said files is not permitted in this forum. If there are any questions about this, please feel free to IM myself or any staff before posting. 2: Posts for offering to print parts for hire. This will be viewed as buying/selling outside the EE and is strictly not allowed without prior staff approval. Offering printing services in your sig, avatar, etc. will get attention of site staff as advertising. No links to EE threads. Any such threads will be locked immediately. 3. Printing/parts requests. If you need a part made for you, you must use the OFFICIAL Request Thread. This is a "pay it forward" thing where prints are done as volunteer work to promote the 3D printing/CAD hobby. And remember: This is a technical forum, so tech forum general rules apply. Keep GD stuff in GD, and be respectful. One last thing, while not a rule, when you post a troubleshooting thread: Please include your machine model, any mods done (including any firmware changes), filament type, brand, and temps you are running, slicer you are using, and picture of the trouble wherever practical. All this information will help us help you more quickly, and call in the right members with the right expertise. We will just ask you this info anyway if you don't include it  |
