Funny, I think you are because i never once said that. Important.

Yes it's only six months till opening bell, but up until election day anything could happen. Hell, look at Edwards. Conned everyone until after he got out. Stuff on Mitt won't be covered up in the media so they can support their Head Dick Sucker in Chief.

My $0.02 worth, IMHO, as a guess, etc.....

The GOP has this bad tendency to nominate the candidate whose "turn" it is to run.  This is how Dole and McCain both got the nod.  Neither was a very good candidate, and both got beat.

So, just whose turn is it this time around?  Three candidates stand above all others at this time on the GOP side of the ledger:  Romney, Huckabee, and Palin.  All have a campaign rolodex full of names and numbers to call in the early primary states, Romney and Huckabee from running there in 2008, and Palin from her Tea Party work in 2010.  They also have donors lined up for the early campaign season, when money is hard to come by for a no-name candidate.

Remember, the unofficial campaign for the presidential election starts on November 3, 2010 (15 days from today).  No one other than Romney, Huckabee, and Palin have name recognition, media access, or ready money lined up to go.  My guess is that the GOP nominee will be one of these three.

They said that about Catholics not to long ago. His religion will not come into play this time. He will talk about the economy and how he will fix it.

Middle of the road Republicans will vote for him in the primary , 3rd party candidates ( tea party) will make a run also.
They will get votes in the primary but not enough to win a primary.

I don't like him either and I hope I'm wrong. I don't think I am.

Do you really think the Republicans in power want a smaller government?

Or less power over the country. If you want to see trhat then we want more of a libertarian in.

I concur.

I think Palin will be the nominee.

She has an energy that the other two potential candidates could only hope to capture...she draws HUGE crowds at her appearences.

She comes across as genuine...a "real person" that the average American can relate to, whereas Romney & Huckabee come across as pre-packaged chameleon "typical politicians"...

Romney & Huckabee are recycled has-beens who've exceeded their shelf-life.

If it really came down to a choice between Obama and Romney, I think I'd pick Obama, (or a third party vote.)

My reasoning? They both have pretty much the same agenda, but at least there would be solid opposition against Obama. Romney would muddy up the waters enough that some stuff that WOULDN'T pass under Obama WOULD pass under Romney.

So long as Congress was under our control and Romney was in I doubt tax cuts would get veto'd.... under Obama? Guaranteed veto with no way around it without a super majority. Romney may even have the balls to make much needed budget cuts.

Romney is not a conservative in any way and I will NEVER vote for him.   Hukabee is a joke and everyone knows that and Palin is like the poster child for PR.   Palin is even going to be on her own TV show FFS.  I think even most people that love Palin would agree that she is unelectable at this point (if she ever was).

All that said, if the republicans don't find someone better than this we are going to have serious trouble in 2012.

Well, if we had an overwhelming majority in both houses, I'd vote 3rd party. But if it looked like the Dems were gaining ground again, I'd stick with my plan.

If every other 2008 result were the same, except the Presidential race, do you think less of the Democrat agenda would have passed? I don't.

Also, to answer your question, I don't think so either. Ideally, McCain would have veto'd a boat load of garbage.
