We have had a number of strange, odd, and/or otherwise inexplicable occurrences happen in our house since we moved in last July.
First, I posted a thread awhile back regarding a strange thud/bump coming from the upstairs. We only hear it when we're downstairs...and it sounds like a thud like a ten year old kid hopped off a high bed onto the floor...and its always one thud, though sometimes it will happen two, three, or four times spaces out by ten seconds or more. Its fuckin weird. Second, we keep getting locked out of our house when we go out the front door. I will take the dog out that way when I get home from work...occassionally, the door will just be locked. It is a deadbolt system and we have tried repeatedly to replicate the event and have been unsuccessful. Finally...we were in the living room earlier, and the Bose Sound Dock iPod player just fired itself up and started playing Buffalo Soldier by Bob Marley. Nobody was near it and the device's remote is out in my car. HOLY DOG SHIT As I was typing this post...I turned to ask my girlfriend if Buffalo Soldier was the last song playing when we went to sleep last night...as I am asking her the question...that fucking Sound Dock fired itself up and began playing Die Motherfucker Die by Dope. I AM FUCKING FREAKED OUT. The house was built in 1908. Should I try to be friendly with the ghost or not? I already told it to go fuck itself, probably not a good idea.

You sure? EDIT |

Quoted: Could be the Bose is picking up a signal from another remote nearby? I used to live in a townhouse and a neighbor's TV remote would turn our bedroom TV on and off once in a while. Or could it be your GF has/bought another remote and is fuckin' wid ya? ETA: On second thought it looks like LTBeas maybe have the answer |

After my girlfriend's grandmother passed away, family was all at her house, helping to clear things out and pack things up. They completely unplugged the phone and had it in a crate in the middle of the room.
All of a sudden, the phone started ringing. And it continued ringing just like there was an incoming call. Her dad answered it and said it was just silent on the line...like a dead phone line should be. Damnit...I am gonna go drink some scotch

Quoted: The thump could just be the expanding in the heat of the day, and contracting in the evening. I have a 9 year old house that makes thumping sounds ocassionally as it's cooling off at night. Ammo cans will do this too. Scares the shit out of me every time. |
| I've had some similar experiences in my home lately. I hear the creaking of footsteps when I am home alone. I go up to investigate and as I thought, no one was there. I've also had doors slam even after I checked to make sure all were properly closed. Almost all of this sort of stuff happens upstairs and not downstairs. I've also seen the curtains swaying for no apparent reason (windows closed, fans off, air conditioning off). At night there is an oppressive sort of feeling...I can't quite describe it, but especially when I'm trying to sleep. I'll be sleeping sometimes and it feels like someone is pushing me down into my bed and I can hear the springs creaking but no one is there. Sometimes it is more of a pushing and I can feel and see myself move; sometimes it happens with my blanket; I'll feel movement and it will be moving down slowly even though I'm perfectly still. I also put my rosary on the same shelf every night and every morning it's on the floor. I'm not very superstitous but it's starting to bother me. |

I actually got interested in this stuff when I would hear crazy stuff staying at my parents house in Ocala. I would hear things that sounded like someone in the kitchen cooking. Even bought a infrared game camera to try and catch something on camera, but never did. |

You need to get it to appear in front of you and then start jacking off. It should disappear and never come back. That is the accepted procedure for dealing with house guests and the neighbor's annoying landscapers, but the jury is still out with regards to its effectiveness on demons. |

I have had 2 ghost experiences in my life. I'm not drawing any conclusions other than: I just don't know but it scared the fuck out of me ![]() OP, idk what to tell you bud...if it was me I may look into a religious/spiritual solution, maybe someone w/ expereince from a church or something can come over and "exorcise" the house ![]() Good Luck. We had an unexplainable situation with our garage door opener. It would open and close itself randomly. There was some talk about the USAF using frequencies that could interact with garage doors. That along with everything else did not check out. Finally, after some time I realized it was my high school son who liked to sleep all day with his keys (with a remote attached) in his pocket. He would roll over and open the door, then roll over again and close the door. The remote was on his keychain because his car stayed outside overnight and had been broken into once already. It took a while to figure it out, but we had some freaky moments in between.
The only thing we have going on now is that our dog likes to knock all the pillows off our living room couch. No one has ever seen the dog do it, but we're assuming that's the case. The dog is getting old and when it's gone you can bet I'm going to mess with my wife. That is, if it is the dog doing the pillow trick. If not...... |
