Some have claimed to have seen Bigfoot but recently I have discovered a new cryptid that has been sighted all over the country.
We all see Bigfoot everywhere on TV and the net but recently people have been claiming to have seen a 7-8 foot tall bipedal with a wolf like head. Most sightings have been observing the thing eating roadkill on rural roads.
Im actually on the fence myself but many have claimed to have seen this thing. Are they all lairs?

YouTube channel Ive been listening to https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC45XWpD2N9tf2E0hqepD5zg

ETA adding link if you want to go live with your encounter http://www.dogmanencounters.com/
and if your going to come to the thread to shit on everyone that claims to have seen something please go away. Im sure you can find a number of tranny threads to go troll.

I've been listening to that show for a few weeks when my wife is at work. Almost certainly people imagining things, but it is creepy as hell. Too bad the world isn't as interesting as our collective imagination.

Seems most of the people that the guy interviews are familiar with the outdoors and have seen bears and other wildlife. Not some city slicker that sees a fox squirrel and pisses in their pants.

could it be all bullshit?? maybe, but I find the stories interesting and think there may be things that lurk in the dark forest we have yet to discover.

What round for dogman? Can I use a conventional cartridge with enough oomph, or do I need something special?

Saw a poacher once in a coyote skin suit, head and all like this

Crawling on all 4s toward the brush line to get away from me and my cousin coming down the pasture in the pickup

We stopped about 400 yards away and my cousin was about to put a hole in said coyote while I watched in the binos. Luckily I realized the coyote was wearing boots and gloves before he shot. By time we made it to where he was, he had already bailed off into the river and got away.

Back in the winter of 2001 my youngest son and I were on our way from Boise,Idaho to Medford,Oregon. We had taken a car trailer to his old place in Boise in order to haul his non-running Jeep to his new place in Medford. We hit an area of heavy snow in the southern Cascades around 2:00 a.m.It took 45 minutes or so to get down the mountain. We had,of course been drinking coffee to stay alert.

About 25 miles west of the pass it became obvious that the last few quarts of coffee had to be drained. We stopped at a wide spot in the road near a summer tourist haunt, deserted in winter. There is a gas station and ice cream joint on the west side of the road, closed this time of year, and no town or settlement within 30 miles. This is tall timber country, and unsettled.Across the road is a small parking area for the ice cream joint. It is paved and about 200 ft.wide and 80 ft.deep.I pulled in and as I stepped out with .45 on hip,it occurred to me in a flash that grabbing the 590 Mossy would be good.

As we walked to the far end of the area to be well off the road, the hair on my arms and the back of my neck stood on end.The area directly to our front was open with a depth of 50 yards and a width of 100 yards. The night was clear and cold,8-10 inches of snow on the ground, and with a moon almost full,so we could see quite well. While standing and taking a leak, with son about 15 ft.to my right I saw,as if springing from the earth in front of us across the open area 10 or 12 creatures moving RAPIDLY back and forth in sort of a Thatch weave pattern. These things, not human men, were close to 7 ft.tall, thin, bipedal with long arms, medium length gray fur, and damned fast on their feet.I brought the shotgun up and slid the safety off,as son was drawing his .45.

I don't know if I can adequately explain the overwhelming feeling of menace, but here goes.I had been operating on pure instinct since I had stepped from the pickup, the rotten feeling hit me a split second before the things arrived, the feeling?,instinct?, was that we were prey, and subject to a very bad death, and to be slaughtered and eaten, not a logical process, gut feeling and massively overwhelming.

As they were moving about in front of us,more appeared and mixed among them, all the while running about fast in front of us.Son and I were backing toward the truck,I WOULD NOT present my back to them, and some of them peeled off right and left in an encirclement movement. They were rolling in fast from the sides now,I could smell and feel their presence. We got to the truck loaded on adrenaline and ready to kill,as we both knew we were in grave danger. We piled into the truck, locked doors.I had keys out and ready,as my butt neared the seat, I had the engine lit and trans.in gear and gas pedal mashed in one motion.Adrenaline is great stuff! As we fled, yes fled, something VERY close by let out a ululating scream of rage, and pain.I believe one or more of the group had gotten really close to us in their pursuit and I ran over the foot of one of them, yeah they were that close. We rolled onto the highway and I told son to watch the bed of the pickup as well as the trailer,he already was indexed to the rear with the shotgun. We hauled ass for at least 20 miles before the feeling of grave danger started to abate. The feeling that nailed both of us,as we discussed soon afterward, was one of being prey, and soon to be slaughtered and eaten.I am not easily led,and neither believe or disbelieve all the bigfoot, ghost and werewolf stuff,in fact I am skeptical. Son was speaking with a coworker about 6 months later who had grown up in Prospect,Oregon, about 30 moles south of Union Creek where the incident took place. He asked Jake if he had ever heard of any strange goings-on in the area.Jake went ashy white and pretty much retold the above tale.He says to avoid the place at night.A family friend,a 25 yr.retired cop not given to flights of fancy and an excellent observer, had a tale very similar from a year before.I told my wife of this event of course, she looked at me at the beginning as though I had developed a 3rd eyeball in the center of my forehead. That was from shock, she did believe me,but did not wish to hear any details. She said the tale gave her chills.Me too,as I write this, hair on back of neck and forearms is sticking up.

I have NOT gone back to explore, and would not without a large group of shotgun and flamethrower equipped men with me. Son and I are both sane, sober persons, and not taken to hysteria. We were wide,VERY wide awake as things transpired. We saw and smelled what was there. As a sidebar neither of us heard footfalls from the creatures. They were silent until i hurt one as we were getting the Hell out of there.

To my knowledge, and I have researched, there is nothing that matches these creatures, unless one considers old legends and folk tales of were creatures. To conclude,I have to fall back on Elmer Keiths famous line,"Hell,I was there"
best regards, Mike M.

BRB, off to load my silver bullets...

There is a legend here that isn't all that old, of a woman that was found dead in the woods by hunters that had the body of a human but the head of a dog / wolf creature. the body was slightly decomposed, but the bone structure was there. It was said to be one of two things, either a person that was deformed but the family that use to live in the nearby house had kept her away from society, and when they died off, she was on her own and scavenged until she died, or some creature from whatever. As was the case, there was a family graveyard on the abandoned grounds. The hunters buried her there in the graveyard.

Now, this would have been the very late 1890s-1910 when it was discovered. My grandfather on my father's side said he'd heard about the discovery but wasn't here to see it since he was in Monroe NC and didn't move here until after he got back from WWI. He moved here in 1920 or thereabouts.

Here's the thing.

There wasn't much of a town here at the time this was found. Almost everything was farmland or woods. The town started with the mills and with Duke power putting in the dam, which was around 1900.

In digging and doing things necessary to build houses and things a little further out where it used to be wooded, where the remains of the old home were. They had to dig up the graveyard and rebury the bodies in the graveyard in town.

This would have been around the late 1930s.

Now, my dad ( born in 1929 ), several other people his age, and my grandfather and some of the old men in town swear to have witnessed seeing the body. People were freaked out all over town about it.

My dad says he and a bunch of his close friends swear to have seen it as it was being transferred.

It would make sense for him to have seen it. The house they lived in at the time was right across from the cemetery, and the undertaker was right next door. In fact, the house that he lived in then, is now the Danztler - Baker funeral home, as my grandfather sold the home to them in the early 70s when he moved out to the river.

My dad says that of course as a kid, he and his friends, along with so many superstitious people back then, believed it to be a werewolf or creature like that. He says as he got older, he became more and more convinced of the other possibility.

The people that owned the property and the old house / graveyard were fairly wealthy, but the last couple had only a couple of children, who either died or moved away. He thinks this girl was deformed, and being so was never brought to town, never talked about. That's the way people did back then, even going so far as hiding people like that in the basement for life. He thought the parents likely got too old to care for her and died off.

The girl, being too scared to come to town because of her disfigurement , lived as long as she could off of the land surrounding the home.

He also figured the dog face shape was not as profound in life as it appeared after it had been decomposed, since the bone structure would be more apparent.

Strange things happen, and do think that most of these "mythical" creatures were based in some reality Some may have been real, and now extinct, some may have been disfigured humans or other animals.

I've always found it interesting that psychologists say that fabricated stories often have way too much unnecessary detail in order to try to create a more believable story, where truths are much less detailed.
In the above story (not the above above one, the one quoted higher) the doggie people used a "thatch weave" a fighter pilot invention for covering sight lines and firing arcs for machine guns in air combat, to maneuver through the area described, which terrestrial creatures use other tactics to move with stealth and observation in groups...
Sounds TOTALLY legit.

Sounds like something we've had rumors of around here for 80 years.

the Dogman is supposedly one of the 3-4 types of hominids. sometimes said much like a Sasquatch with a short protruding snout. the snout is not as defined as some drawings portray.

Eastern Ok and Western Ok has something similar called the "Hissing Critters" and they look a lot like Hyena's on all 4's when they run.

I know 3 people who swear up and down they have shot Big Hyena's while spot lighting deer. my brother says he was spotlighting one night 25 years ago and shot one with a .270. he thought it was a coyote at first when he shot it. when they walked up on it, he said it was an animal that looked like a Hyena that weighed 200lb, maybe more.

all 3 men have said their animals were quadrapedal. some people also call them Shunka's or something like that.

all of them I have heard of have been in eastern OK, AR, LA and KY and up north along the Mississippi River system.

There aren't any simply because there aren't any of them to take photos of.

That was a good movie, at least I think its a good story

This story stands more a chance of being real than a dog man.  Maybe its a pigman, or manbearpig?

Met a guy a deer camp one year that told his dogman story after he got pretty beered up.  If memory serves the "dogman" essentially walked by his ground blind on two legs and it wasn't any other animal he'd ever seen.  Lots of dogman sightings in Michigan though.

My opinion, it was a bear with some disease.

my brother said he wanted no part of dragging a Hyena type animal into his truck. as far as he is concerned he shot a hyena type animal.
most people who shoot odd things don't go parading them around town with the tailgate down. especially when its all done in the process of doing something illegal like spotlighting deer.

he did say that the .270 dropped it hard and that it didn't kick or trash and didn't howl so he assumed it was a high shoulder shot that busted the spine. it was shot in either Latimer or Leflore County. we've heard of them from numerous sources and family members in Arkansas. my brother said that the head and jaws on it looked like it could bite thru the door of a dodge truck like the jaws of life.
