I'm sore too, seriously sore everywhere except my legs and chest. I thought it may have been from the arm wrestling, but I only went twice. Had to be from the connex/bar/handstand/rope.

So what made the oven explode? Quoted:
So what made the oven explode? TL:DR: At some point, one of the butts had overflowed, or the thin aluminum pan had leaked, and pork drippings had made their way to the bottom of the oven. The oven was only set at 225, but of course the electrical heating element gets much hotter than that. Oven full of vaporized fuel. Pressure increases until door seal opens. Air enters rapidly, mixing with the fuel and heat. Kaboom. Also, if anyone cares... Assuming the oven is .125 cubic meters internal volume, the gross heat of combustion of vaporized pork fat is 40 MJ/kg, density at 225*F is 1.1 kg/m^3, and the backdraft conditions are in the 20%vol fuel range, the weaponized pork butt should release an impulse wave with about 1100kJ of energy, which is roughly equivalent to a bundle of ten "quarter stick" sized fireworks taped together.
Based on how far it blew the oven away from the wall and how loud it was, I'd say that's probably about right. |

Based on how far it blew the oven away from the wall and how loud it was, I'd say that's probably about right. You're assumptions are wrong. That density is way too high. There's no way that little poof (yes, I watched it poof) was in the MJ range.
Also, there was a fire before the oven door opened. The opening of the door just allowed the rest of it to burn faster. |

Is it weird that while reading through the tales of the CWC weekend I could easily picture the events? The taste of peeps and the bloat of unpuked cola Congrats to the winners and survivors! I hope to make the pilgrimage next year and am thoroughly pysched up for CWE this year. |

Getting ready to post some pics, but first I would like to start by saying huge thanks to RustedAce for hosting and making Cola Warrior the amazing event that it is. This was my first time in the swamp (but I'm really glad it wasn't a swamp for the weekend!). As my second CW event, I have to say it's not only a great time with great people but also a great time for self-evaluation. That course is no joke and there's a lot to be worked on for the next event, but dammit I'm gonna bring it!
Also, huge thanks to all the sponsors for the awesome swag!!!

I'm unskilled in the ways of technology and youtube, so it was my pleasure to give PBJunkie the NVG recorder sponsored by TNVC. He needed one and it was in my ability and I'm sure we'll all be better off for it. Very very gracious of you. I am constantly in awe of the selflessness, and giving nature of this group. Hands down an awesome group of individuals. |
