I thought this was somewhat odd. She is playing it completely straight, which she never does about anything, including abortion. I didn't realize that the shooting in Lafayette was at a screening of her movie Trainwreck.

She stated that the attack on the recruiting office and army base was due to lax background checks.
The ghost of Bin Laden could fuck BO on the white hose lawn and it would be classified as a game of twister. Fucking game over. If we can't call it what it is, we are loosing the battle. |

I've been saying since she became "famous". Something was off with her. She got a show on comedy central aka gun control central out of nowhere. She wasn't even famous, and she just started getting movie deals, shows, on every magazine in sight. Wouldn't surprise me if the media/hollywood propped her up on purpose for gun control. Remember who they are in bed with in the first place. |

Yeah, last time Chuck said he wanted "reasonable background checks" he filed a bill that made you a felon for leaving your handgun in a place where your wife could access it without going through an FFL transfer first. That's how the gun control crowd works - 2000 press conferences explaining how they just want this one tiny reasonable thing and the mean old gun people won't "compromise" (i.e. give away more of the rights expressly named in the Bill of Rights and not even get anything in return). Then when they file the bill, it is a giant pile of "Fuck you - ban all the guns" but all that the media continues to report is the same old press blurbs from the previous 2000 press conferences. |

I agree with PR361. After reading the soundbites on the actual bill, it is a far cry from what has been trumpeted in the past. Yes, I realize anything can be added to the bill at a later date. But when I see the gun control crusaders have gone from "We must ban the evil assault-death-murderer rifles and child-killer-babanana-clips! It's just common sense!" to "We need a law that sort-of-in-a-roundabout-manner refines some state contributions to background checks and mental health. It's just common sense." it's pretty clear that despite what they may say, they realize support for things like the Clinton AWB is not in the cards. They also add the caveat that "even this may be a long shot". Have we won? Of course not. Gun control will be a part of the landscape for years to come. But right now, at a national level, there's very little traction. And this is a good thing. |
