Broke 23 Wed night at 16 yards. Felt good about that as it was only my 2nd time out this year.
The Team had to shoot 'caps at 24 yards, gave a few rocks back.

Sweet….My son and I hate, hate, haaaate Trap. Our spring league also shoots Trap. Best I’ve done in Trap is 22, son hasn’t popped that straight cherry yet but he’s shot a 24.

Do you shoot 100 straight in competition or just do a round in league? We alternate between Skeet, Trap and 5-Stand weekly, 100 targets.

Just 50 targets, 25 @ 16yds then they have a formula to determine where the team shoots handicaps.
I have been tossing around the idea of shooting more, hopefully as I get closer to retirement I'll have the time...

Have you done Handicap Trap yet? If not you should practice it as it gives you an advantage by slowly getting you back to 27yds. It's an optional event at SCTP Nationals but we've never shot it competitively, only practiced as I think it helps in 'regular trap.' Food for thought....

I have shot handicaps all the way back to 27 yards. Not because of my average but because it was a shoot event. Was a long time ago, think high school.

Did NOT shoot well Wednesday night. Cottonwood crap floating around and my eyes itch really bad, must be allergic...

Looking at doing some different ammo things. I've been shooting some Herters 1oz 8s vel 1250 because I had them.
Tried AA 7.5s 1-1/8 oz vel 1200 at 22 yards it didn't help.
Thinking about getting my loader out as I think I have enough powder/primers/wads/shot for a few hundred rounds.
After that I'd be at the mercy of finding a suitable powder and some primers.

My loads would be AA hulls, 19.5 gr Int. Clays, Claybuster Fig 8 Rem knock-off wads, Cheddite 209s, and 1-1/8 of 7.5s.
Should get me in that 1200 fps range.
