When I'm at the range I usually have a 'Maxpedition' pouch to hold 15 or 20 shells, but the time it takes to get it on a belt, etc. doesn't really lend itself for a SD scenerio.

I also have a 'Choate Combat Speed Stripper' that holds six rounds, goes on a belt, but in a pinch will fit into a pocket easily.

Here's a linky that shows what I'm describing.

For a self defense situation, I don't plan to put on any ammo pouches. My shotgun holds 6 rounds in the tube, and 6 more in a sidesaddle. If I wanted more, I would add rounds to a buttstock carrier.

I agree. However, I do keep a bandoleer (cheap WalMart) of 00 Buck in the safe next to the shotgun.

For field use I keep 6 more shotgun shells in a california competition works stripper, the tactical type with a flap.
