why does it seem so difficult to find a good used M1A in the Twin Cities area?

numerous times ive posted WTB ads in the EE, and rarely see them at gun shows... no luck.

people just dont seem to want to sell them...

even with ads in the EE i dont get any replies...

does anyone else have such a tough time finding them for sale used ?

You would have liked the one my local gun store had for sale a few months back.  Looked brand new and only had about 20 rds fired in it.  They said they would sell it to me for about $1150.  I wish I would have had the cash then to get it.  It was a steal.

Try gunbroker.  I was a little skeptical about it at first, but I bought my M1A NIB with walnut stock for 1299.  I also bought a Savage Stevens rifle a few months later.  Both times the transaction went off without a hitch.  As usual, check the feedback of who you're buying from.

The Polytechs are great rifles.  The recievers are forged and the parts are close to milspec.  I keep hearing about soft bolts, but the one I have is just fine.

I picked it up a few months ago for $800.
