its simple....i cant get my damn gas plug off....any suggestions? |
| Get some penetrating oil like Kroil and apply it so it soaks into the threads. Let it sit for a while and see if that does the trick. Did you tighten the plug when shooting and it was hot? That can lead to stuck plugs. If the penetrating oil doesn't work, try a little heat to it and try loosening it. |
He told you the surefire way to get it loose. |

A combi wrench and a gas cylinder wrench are basically the only tools you need. The rest is good old fashion elbow grease, because any lubrication isn't going to penetrate down now into the sealed threads of the plug in the cylinder and are only going to make the plug itself slippery. It's always good to put a little grease or antisieze on the plug threads before tightening it back down to help in this issue, but know all you can do is put your back into it. You do need the gas cylinder wrench though so you don't strip out the barrel splines and tightness in fit of the gas cylinder to the barrel. It's a negative for the rifle in accuracy. |
