Cool factor is really high. Not an easy build by any means, and has become very expensive. You are going to need the knowledge and equipment to machine out all of the fire control parts yourself with very poor info to work with. Lots of tinkering and frustration. I have never built a semi so I can't help you with the inter workings of that, but I have built 3ea post samples. There are a LOT of out-of-spec receiver parts floating around. Bad Trunions, Rails, Channels, Gas Tubes and rivet sets, all sold as new/serviceable/mil-spec. When those parts are out-of-spec, it's a major pain in the ass to get everything lined up so the bolt and op-rod run true on their rails and don't bind up. Building an M60 receiver assembly is not at all plug-and-play unless you get extremely lucky. I haven't really seen any fitment issues with all the rest of the parts. They tend to bolt right up once you have a good receiver built. Tony |
