What are your "fun" bolt guns to shoot? (Page 1 of 3)

| I have a ton of bolt guns, but they're all hunting rifles. I probably do need to get them out of the same and shoot them periodically throughout the year rather than right before hunting season to make sure they're still zeroed. But what is everyone's favorite bolt gun to just go out and shoot for fun? |

.22 bolt guns, especially with a suppressor, have to be the most fun to “just shoot”. I also have always gotten enjoyment from milsurp bolt guns… the history and nostalgia of them. Attached File |

My CZ452 trainer with a 1-4 Leupold on it. It has a 22" barrel. What a hoot, and cheap to shoot. Shooting Ice cubes laid on a 2x4 at 25-50-100 yards, or even better let a bunch of those nasty marshmallow peeps dry out and get hard. Those little bastards explode when hit. Got a groundhog in the head at 200 yards with Aguila 38gr solid high velocity. Lucky shot.

Only bolt actions I have are French Mle. 36's and a 36-51. They're very fun to shoot.

It depends. Suppressed 300 Blk. if I just want to lob 220gr. out to 400 or so yards.  This used to be my regular date when I’d sneak out for a day of shooting, but now my daughter claims it for ringing steel.  And when I really want to stretch things out, the Bergara makes the 1000 yard shots easy.

Ruger scout with a us optic 1.5-6 scope. Likes SA 147 gr ammo well enough and i can bang plates out to 520 yds. Hunting and target ammo shoot much better groups but I have a lot of the SA. |
