WST is a fast powder so want to start low and work up for your gun and bullet.  Consult your load manual and check the Hodgdon web site for data as well.  I use 5 gr with 215 SWC, start lower and work up.

I haven't used WST in 45ACP. My Speer manuals up to #13 don't test loads with WST nor do any Hornady or Sierra manuals using 230fmj bullets.
Nosler 4th Edition with their 230fmj bullet using Fed150 primers in Win cases: WST start 3.8-678fps––4.3-723fps––-Maximum 4.8-769fps
__________
Winchester data from their 15th edition handbook using Winchester components of course: WST Win 230fmj start 4.1-710fps––-Max 4.9-800fps
_____
As already said WST is pretty fast for the 230 grain bullets in 45ACP. A more often used powder would be best. Careful with your loading.

I have only used WST in 45 ACP with 200 gr cast SWC's.

Some 10 shot groups offhand groups.

If you are using a powder measure beware, WST is extremely fine and I had several squib losds with the Lee Auto Disk measure.  It doesn't flow as well as expected.

The ones that actually got powder fired great though.  Be carefull and check each round for light charges.

45 ACP only uses about 4gr of the stuff and I was using speer 185gr JHP's

You can mirror 231 data to load WST, here again, work your loads as usual.

Mirror topic ––––––->  "HERE"

WST seems to be a better 231, cleaner and softer recoil feel.   I loaded  2 different syle lead bullets with same charge of WST,  both loads averaged with in 5 fps of each other and very low hi/low spread number.

Rounds used is the SWC and the RNL -

Looks like it to me. I loaded some steel wolf cases last weekend with wst for my 200 grainers.

I have loaded the Wolf steel cases also after seeing SBR7_11's previous posts on the subject.

Believe there is a tacked thread about this subject, top of the page.

They work, I used my standard carbide 45 ACP dies.

Be sure to debur case mouths.

Ignore the people at the range when you pick up your steel, they will tell you that you can't reload those Wolf cases.

Reload until mouths split.

Thanks for picking up what I left off

Dont let them know you is handloading them, thats more FREE cases for you and I in these days of hard to find yellow stuff.

Reload until mouths split.

Mouth/case split, wont hold primer, or you lose the empty at range never to bee found in timely manner

I had no problems measuring WST through my Hornady powder measure.
