I need some help. I am a huge HK fan, and have started building up the military side of my collection. I would love to have a real HK 53,  however funding is an issue. What are your thoughts and advice regarding Vector Arms. They seem to be a quality firearm, however I don't want to be taken for a ride either. I would rather spend the money on a DSA FAL than get a bad $1500 Vector 53, however if the Vector is of decent quality it sure would look great sitting next to the P7.

I've been looking at the Vector 53 in .223 registered SBR. Again, if it isn't of sufficient quality I would rather spend the money on an FAL , M1A, or Steyr AUG.

Thanks in advance.

I have heard nothing but good things about

Vector Arms
Ohio Rapid Fire

I have heard lousy things about

Vulcan arms
Bobcat Weapons
Special Weapons
Hesse Arms

I must say that I have no personal experience with these rifles but I think I am going to be getting a 93 copy from either Vector or ORF after the sunset

Seems to me that Vector is putting out a kick-ass 53 for a good price.  Just to go along with the above post...ORF/IGF/Vector...you can't go wrong.
To my understanding...all come with some kind of warranty as well.

If you need balistics info...try the HkPro website.  There are a couple of threads over there talking about the HK53/5.56 barrel ballistics.

I'm purchasing a V53 at the end of the month and am going with Vector due to it being a little cheaper.  Thanks Ganderman!
