Can anyone tell me anything about this trigger pack on this Bobcat BW-5?  Origin?  Value?

I have never seen one like it before.  It is semi only, eventhough it is not marked as such.

Thanks!

malaysian contract HK parts.   Considered a little sub-par by some.

Thanks for the info.

Would it truly be considered better than a Navy ambi semi-auto trigger pack, or is it just a matter of personal preferrance?

Personally, the only real advantage I see in the ambi 'Navy' grip is if you're left handed. I prefer that (SEF/SUO) style with finger grooves, but I'm right handed.

Here's a variant you don't often see, know what country it's from?

Hmmm ya got me there.  I personally like the SEF type lowers better myself.  The fit the hand a lot better.

Turkish "SEF" style grips, as mfgd by MKEK of Turkey, are marked 'ETS'.

Yep

And to HMC's question on value... I recently bought a C&P'd SUO grip in exc condition for $65

Again, thanks guys for the info.  I think I'm gonna swap lowers.  It works just fine, but for "authenticity's" sake, I'll probably get a navy ambi or one of the classic SEF lowers.

One more question please:  Obviously switching out the entire lower or trigger pack would be the easy way to do it, but how easy is it to take the trigger pack from this one and insert it into a different c&p'ed lower?

It appears its pretty easy.  I can't tell immediately because I am new to mp5's and  I don't have the gun just yet as I am waiting on the ATF.

Rotate the selector straight up, a lug lines up for disassembly, slide out the selector.

Grasp the internals, lift out.

Get your new clipped and pinned lower, slide internals in, push in selector, rotate.

Done.

Should take about 10-15 seconds.

Navy Ambi is a completely different beast, totally different internals. You cannot use an SEF (or SUO/UJR/etc..) trigger pack in a Navy Ambi Grip housing.

So, if you want to go German, and re-use existing internals from the SUO housing, you need to get an SEF housing.

If you are around Colorado Springs area, contact me and I can walk you through all this stuff if you want.
