I just assembled my 50 upper (BOHICA MK 1) on a lower I built this weekend.

After reading here and posting questions, I decided to go with a 16X Super Sniper scope.

I bought these Warne Maxima QD 30mm rings and am wondering if they are tough enough for the job?  I have a scope ring lapping kit and some ring rosin as well.  I also have a FAT wrench to put the proper torque on the rings (25 pounds?).

Depends on the type of brake you have.  They look substantial enough.

edit: If you have the MkI, the recoil is pretty substantial.  If you are planning on getting the MkII brake they should be fine. Bohica Arms is offering a retrofit brake for the MkI.  With the MkI brake you may have issues with the single lever QD attachment.

I have the Mark 1 brake and am trying to get a hold of Chris to get the Mark 2.  I will most likely be shooting the gun before I get the updated brake, but not a lot.

Can I ask where you ordered your Super Sniper from? I was told SWFA.com was out of stock.

I'd say the reverse is true.  The MORE efficient your brake is the STRONGER your rings/scope assembly should be.  The scope and rings feel all the recoil a rifle puts out meaning it feels the 500-600 G of acceleration from recoil and the 400 to 500 G of acceleration from the brake arresting the recoil.  The only way to reduce the recoil the rings and scope feel is to increase the weight or shoot light loads.

Those rings may work and may not.  I have no experience with them.  But if you want a cheap option for 30mm rings, the  Burris Xtreme's (except for the Low's) work great.

In short, if those rings shoot good on a Bohica with the new brake, they should work fine with the old brake.

Take care,

I hit "buy now" on an SWFA Ebay auction last week, about wednesday, and paid with PP.
