![]() Update to the stock adapter project: I had decided to make some minor adjustments, and during that the 3d print I had received had some dimensional issues with the dovetail that I wasn't sure were in the file or in the print. So I had revalidate the file. Good news, adjustments have been made and RFQs have gone out. Current guess is some time around early June (If I order by sometime next week). This production run will be the Improved adapter, Fin charging handles, and if I'm feeling spunky a limited sized run of both of the wave charging handles. For those who were wanting details/images of the improved adapter, click here. Reminder: If you want a guaranteed shot at the items before they go to open sale then be sure to fill out the google form. for the charging handles or the stock adapters |

The cut receiver in my Numrich kit has a lot of missing material. I don't think it can be saved... |

If my shitty gunbroker kit can be saved I’m sure yours can too. I had 8mm gaps between the rear sections…and it was cut through the rate reducer hole threads. It’s not perfect…but after it get hit with cerakote it will look good enough. Hole spacing is perfect and it drops right into the upper. I have 2 more kits (both Numrichs) that are cut way cleaner. I regret buying the first kit…but it was mainly for the small parts to toss into my CSA semi receiver. This one was mainly for practice. I may use it to do a post sample once my SOT comes through. Won’t feel too bad about chopping this one up. I also did this with a shitty Harbor Freight flux core welder. The Numrichs kits will get Tig welded. Attached File Attached File Attached File |

Give the inexpensive flux core welding - that actually looks good for a re-weld. I cannot weld - its an art I have never mastered I envy those that can learn to do it well. Did you make a jig on your own to hold it while you welded? Originally Posted By cms81586: If my shitty gunbroker kit can be saved I’m sure yours can too. Just started at the front and kept the pin holes lined up. It specs out nice. Should look okay with cerakote…but it was a poor reweld host anyways. More just for fun than anything. I have a jig on the way and a MiG welder now. |

I may start rewelding these and selling them with the matching parts kits so folks can have a receiver with a factory stock dovetail. I’ll have my SOT in a couple months so it’s a possibility. I'm down for one if you start selling them. |
If you’re debating on whether or not to hop on the $9 bowman's 20rnd mag deal…do it. Theyre new in the wrap. If you order a multiple of 4 you’ll get them still in the paper. Smells like my childhood walking through racks full of milsurp rifles at my favorite gun shop. ![]() Attached File |

Yeah shipping is pretty much a standard $20. Even if you buy 10 they’re still only $11 a piece to your door. After the first 15 arrived brand new I put in another order…. Splitting them with a few other VZ61 fans I know…but I snagged another 10 for myself. Attached File |

Update on the charging handles and stock adapters: I got a box. ![]() And in that box...was several hundred charging handles. ![]() And the improved stock adapters should arrive late next week. Which means assuming there are no issues, I should be contacting folks by next weekend. Tentative prices are: Improved stock adapters - $65 shipped Charging handles - $40 for the first one, $35 for each one after (shipped) Reminder - Just like last time, I'm keeping track of everything with Google Forms: The first for the charging handles and the second for the stock adapters (However I will be going to a consolidated form afterwards for all of my Vz projects) (Edit: Why is this site always bipolar with my images? Sometimes they work just fine, and others they don't.) |

Good news and bad news on the stock adapters: Good news - They arrived. And aesthetically, they look great. Bad news - The dovetail is sloppy. Like, disgustingly so. That dimensional issue that I had mentioned that I wasn't sure if it was the print or the model. Yeah, it was the model. BUT, it can be shimmed. So tonight I'm going to order shim stock and likely spend this weekend punching holes and cutting squares. |

Khyber Klobb receiver is about to get hit with some grill paint. I highly recommend trying a reweld. This was a very poorly demilled kit and it came together fine without a jig using a shitty Harbor Freight flux core welder. I have zero welding experience. If I can do it, you can too…and the factory dovetail is far more solid than any adapter out there! Used JB weld to make it a little more authentically pleasing. I’ll touch that up with some sand paper by hand before I get to painting. Attached File Attached File |

I have two really nice kits. This one may be the beater that gets paint…especially if it ends up looking like ass anyways. |

Was working with a friend's VZ-61. He has the .22 conversion (which is a ton of fun!), and his only complaint was the aggravation of switching top ends. The conversion kit includes a wire for depressing the retaining plunger of the takedown pin. That's easy enough, but it's also extremely easy to launch the plunger and spring when you pull out the takedown pin so that the upper can be removed from the frame. After looking at it, I suggested that we mill the pocket a bit farther towards the end of the pin. Having done so, the pin can now be withdrawn far enough to allow removal of the top end, but with no danger of launching the spring and plunger. IMG_2602 by Jim QRB, on FlickrHe liked the result so well that we did the pin for his original .32 top end as well. It makes removal for cleaning or caliber swap a painless five second task. IMG_2604 by Jim QRB, on FlickrI am wondering if I could order a small supply of takedown pins, if there might be a market for them? Appologies for the poor focus of the images... |

I checked, and there are none available to purchase. I could make them from scratch, but if I value my time in the slightest, that would be too expensive. I could of course modify someone's part, but I wouldn't be comfortable without having any spares. If someone's part were lost in the mail, I'd feel duty bound to resolve the issue. I set up a "will notify" for parts availability. We'll see if anything comes through. Thanks for the encouragement. |

Pin idea is neat. Maybe I'll cut one tonight. FYI- an unfolded paper clip fits for depressing the detent. ![]() Failed To Load Title |

Regarding the takedown pins, the next production run I do I had planned to include modified pins. I already have them modeled up and ready. That run would likely be before the end of the year if anyone wants to wait. (Also, I should be contacting folks about the stock adapters later this week) |

Snap, bang or fizz I like all 3

Got my folding stock with the added support bracket installed today. Stock locks up solid now, nice work. Only used one shim in the dovetail and that had it solid. Only slight comment is the stock rubs the front of the receiver when closing now, but no biggie for me as it's a shooter. I really appreciate the work you put into getting this stuff brought to market. |
