What kind of work is involved with swapping a front end on an FAL front end = www.dsarms.com/prodinfo.asp?number=00116TAC I figure I'll need some sort of wrench and a vice... Is headspace a concern when doing this? I've built 4 ARs on stripped lowers, so I have some know-how (just not about FALs) Thanks |

Honestly unless you plan on building more FALs, know somebody that has the tools, or just want to have them laying around you might come out better letting a gunsmith change it. Not to diminish the achievement of assembling your AR, but changing a barrel on a FAL is a whole lot more complicated. If you decide to go for it I'd recommend checking out the FAL Files forum. BTW the upper you linked is an excellent choice. Good luck |

Yeah... signed up at FAL files recently I agree it will be considerably more work than an AR (from what I've read at least. I've done Saiga conversion work as well, but am new to the FAL world) but I like to be self-reliant, so if I did it, I'd buy the tools and stuff, and stock up on spare parts for the future like I have with my ARs. That's more long term... but would be my justification for buying a bunch of crap for a barrel swap
