I have installed a Surefire MB556K muzzle break on my 5.56 M4.

There is no mark on my barrel as to the location of BDC, so I used the LaRue fore end to line things up.

After installing what appeared to be the best combination of shims according to the timing chart provided I applied the Rock set and torqued the setup to 30 foot pounds.  Per the instructions. It appears to be off (short of BDC) about 1/3 the width of the timing notch.

My question is will this have a negative effect on the function of the break?

Thanks for any advice.

it might make the muzzle flip feel a little weird as the direction of gases is not exactly on ....that being said I doubt that it will be noticeable and should not effect the actually working of the brake...

I guess I'll just have to shoot it and see.

Thanks for the reply.
