Would a 7.62 SOCOM Mini fit over both a SFMB762 and an SFMB556? Is the Mini pointless to use on a 16" large frame AR in 7.62 x 51?

It is my understanding that any Socom 7.62 model will fit on 7.62/5.56 Socom mount.
I wouldn't say pointless, I would say less effective but still would provide a huge difference in overall blast, concussion, and sound. If sound is the name of your game, full size is the route to go. I love my Surefire Mini..maintains a short SBR and eliminates all of the blast

It will fit both mounts.

But as an FYI, we have a Mini 7.62 in the shop we shoot 300BLK subs through.

Its still LOUD with the 300 Blackout with 220gr bullets.

It wouldnt be worth the tax stamp to me for use on .308
