So I got me a New Remington 870 Express Tactical (Most Awesome Shotgun I've owned yet!). However, the conventional Stock that it comes with is kinda.....Well uncomfortable for me. I have decided that I definitely want a pistol grip stock but it all comes down to deciding which one to get.

So the options that I currently have on the books is:

- Speedfeed IV-S stock

-Blackhawk Knoxx Collapsible stock recoil reducing thingie

-Mesa Tactical LEO Stock adapter with Magpul MOE stock or something similar, Basically an AR-15 stock.

Another reason I want to get one is because I am teaching my Girlfriend how to shoot (I understand that a 12 Gauge shotgun is not the most idea firearm. Using Winchester AA Low recoil low noise rounds). She is 5'3'' and Finds the length of the conventional stock comfortable. I want to be able to conform the length of the stock to her and I, and I'm just having difficulties choosing which stock would be the best bang for my buck.

I've heard Nothing but great things about Speedfeed stocks. Knoxx stocks.....>Ehhh not so much. I would assume the Mesa Tactical adapter is not a POS

Help?

I would stay away from knoxx. It is the only one I have experience with and it worked but it wasn't comfortable and if you're not careful it will whack you in the cheek when you fire.
If I were to build another 870 I'd go with the mesa low tube adapter and magpul setup. This will allow you to change the position of the stock to fit you an your gf's needs. Mesa tactical makes fine products.

I like the speed feed stock look but again it is fixed so you'd have to research lengths if you want it to fit both of you.
I love magpul and have a lot of their stuff on my carbine. Plus that adapter and magpul on an 870 looks sweet.

Check out sage international. Their telescoping stocks are mil-spec and can lock open at several positions similar to an stock on an M4. I had one on my 870P and I loved it. Granted they aren't cheap. But they will last you forever.

I looked up the Sage stocks. Very cool looking stock, but I cant find them anywhere. I think it still comes down to speedfeed and the mesa tactical. Im leaning more towards the speedfeed though, because I dont have to purchase other parts to get it going. However, I guess i'll check out any other options if you guys have them

The Sage stocks are purchased directly from Sage International. You'll need to fill out the online quote for even just one unit. They'll send you the quote which will be in the vacinity of $125.

Speedfeed makes good stocks too.

If looking slightly shorter fixed stock w/ pistol grip, check out the mesa Urbino. LOP is 12.5"

Im thinking hard about the Mesa Tactical LEO stock adapter with an Ergo Grip or TD BG-16 Battlegrip and a Vltor Imod stock, since I have those off my AR-15. Any reason this wouldnt be a good combo?

Too heavy. I highly recommend the Magpul SGA event though it is not a PG stock. It is kind of a hybrid.

Would it really add that much weight? Sorry I am a little new to shotguns, owned way too many rifles. With that being said, I always preferred my rifles a little rear-heavy. To me, it feels like a lot of the weight will be on my strong hand, and not my weak (left) hand. With all the weight in the Stock setup, wouldn't it act the same?

I like how the SGA feels, but im not too hot to trot with it's looks or it's weird spacer system. Magpul makes great stuff, no doubt about it, but I want something with a little less theory sprinkles on it.

Sorry If i sound ignorant or anything

If you don't absolutely need an adjustable stock, I would consider the Mesa Tactical Urbino.
Just added it to my 870 Express and can tell you wholeheartedly that the difference is like night and day. The factory stock was very uncomfortable with slugs and buckshot, and resulted in very short range sessions. In comparison, my last range session after adding the Urbino consisted of 50 rounds of slugs and 100 buckshot loads. Didn't even have a tender shoulder the next day.
I know, it sounds like a bunch of hype, but the improved fit, ergonomics, and the Limbsaver recoil pad truly make a HUGE difference.

Haha that's the thing, I do actually need it to be Adjustable to fit not only me, but my Girlfriend when she wants to shoot it. She's WAY shorter than I am so I like having the ability to shorten it for her, and lengthen it for me. I heard Fantastic things about the Urbino Stock.....I'm just not falling in love with the price. I know, I know "Buy once, Cry once" but i'm on quite a budget
