So, do you leave a message and hope he calls back or keep trying. Been a couple days and no return call yet. When did you call him (date & time)? Like I said, Larry is a one man shop. Call him and leave a message then try back a few days later and leave another message. It is almost Christmas time. Lots of folks take off for a few weeks around this time of year. Larry may not even be around. Also, he might be off hunting somewhere. And if you leave a message saying something like "I want to know what your lead time is." he may not make your call a priority. Most gunmakers have their phones ringing off the wall right now. If you leave a message, say "I am interested in ordering a rifle and would like to discuss details." I'm sure that would get a call returned before a lead time inquiry would. -David Edgewood, NM |

When I ordered my rifle from Larry, he took some time to get back to me, but he delivered the rifle right when he said he would. I am VERY glad I was patient, as the guy is custom building EVERY rifle ordered himself. His son also helps out I think he mainly makes the wood stocks. |
| 3 days. 2 calls and messages. I'll wait till monday then hit gunbroker for a different 50. I understand being a one man shop. Really. However if it is your livelihood and I'm guessing it is his, you need a better system to communicate, or you lose business like mine. Unless of course, you have more work than you can handle. If that's the case, God Bless him and keep building. I'm ready to order a Big Bertha now but can get by with an Armalite or Ferret. |

You must be from a different planet man, given the recent Election of Obama, the Christmas Holidays, and the general market for 50's, black rifles and the like. People never cease to amaze me. -David Edgewood, NM |

Whatever. 3 days for a call not a rifle as you know. Like I said. Too busy? Fine. Must not need the cash. Good for him. I can live with or without it as I don't live on this subforum and eat, sleep and breathe 50's. I'll move onto the next gun or caliber. In this market, I'm sure you won't be missed. Go ahead and boycott Rock River Arms, CMMG, Bushmaster, Stag Arms, etc for your AR-15 needs right now too. I'm sure they're not returning calls or emails within a few days either. Patience is a virtue fewer and fewer people posess. Instant gratification is definitely the norm. -David Edgewood, NM |

There are very few places/manufacturers of .50 BMG rifles that have the time right now to pick up the phone or return calls/emails. The gun market is in full swing right now do to people panic buying.
Give State Arms a chance to return your calls/emails, I'm sure that Larry is super busy right now working on rifles for alot of people. You won't be disappointed in the wait as SA rifles are very nice and in demand. |

You're right. I probably won't be missed. Therefore this is a really stupid time to order a custom. Too many panic buyers and I'm not one of 'em. Better to find something already available. I'm flush with cash and want something when I want it. Patience may be a virtue to some. To others it's just a pain in the ass. |
