Should I get one or not?(please elaborate on why you think I should or shouldn't) |
Yes, because they are very versitile rifles; however, you did not say what you want to do with it. Competition? Tactical use? Plinking? Hunting? Some models are better suited for certain things than others. |

Oh Yeah, sorry. I'm looking for a SHTF rifle. Something that is pretty accurate out to 300 yards(can hit a man sized target) but also somthing that can be used for "tactical plinking". It was a toss up between this and the socom 16, but everyone said that the scout is better. Oh yeah, this would be my first m14 style rifle(and first center fire rifle aswell). |
I'm just getting back into the M14 after 36 years and I have the new Squad Scout. I didn't realize how much I missed that type of weapon. If you want a 300yd weapon with knock down power........this is it. I'm hitting a 13x23 steel target @ 400yd. with iron sights with consistency.....bench rest & sand bags. I have several "high end AR's" and builds that I really enjoy However, I'm really beginning to "rethink" the SHTF type of weapon. Just don't post a question about upgrades .........it seems to create a real shit storm. See my post "Need a Review of Potential Upgrades"...... Nevadasun |
| Gosh darn it, you guys are making me want to buy another one!!!!! I think I'll go put a bunch of rounds through my loaded barrel real quick and burn it up so I can get it rebarreled with an 18"er. I know I've been saying that for a while now and it's not happening. |
