*** I also posted this in the rifles forum here ***

I just acquired a Springfield Model 1899 US Army Carbine 30-40 .  It seems in pretty good working condition.

Can anyone direct me to a good website with info on use, maintanence, value and care for this?

Is this a "collectible"? Any info would be appreciated.

I've also got a Remington Model 742 6mm Carbine and a few old boxes of ammo for both.

Go to Jouster.com, there are quite a few knowledgeble people there.  You could also do a search on Auction Arms or Gun Broker to find out the going  "Net" prices, local prices may be higher or lower.  Joe
