Springfield Kuna about to be released (Page 1 of 11)

for those that do not know, SA has supplied dealers with the 9mm Kuna 6” pistol (Strike side fold brace) for a release in mid April. The thing looks shit hot. No info on a 16” version at this time. Well built and has 2 mags. Nice trigger. Roller delay blowback. Ready to pick up one as soon as the date hits. |

Looking forward to these being released. I am not too keen on the strike industries brace. Hoping that enough people put pressure on Springfield Armory to make the factory stock available for purchase. Weird launch: they embargo'd it, and simultaneously shipped them to dealers. Who aren't keeping them secret. :D There's twitter video of one for rent at a Colorado indoor range, one already sold in Texas, another shop with a "look what we got" Instagram vid, etc. I got to play with the SMG version while I was in Germany last month, I like that stock. The Strike brace is fine too: I like it better than the SB, and you can swap out the stabilizer for a "stock" buttpad without having to buy a whole new folding arm. Springfield shipped one of the braced versions last week, but I haven't gotten a chance to shoot it yet.

One of my big hangups is the mags While cheap, it's still a new mag to stockpile I emailed Lingle asking if they were planning on testing to see if possible to make new lower for scorpion mags Reply was they think it'll work with scorpion mags but need to get one in hand for testing |

Thanks for sharing these photos! I was expecting a near-replica of a Stribog, based on some external observations of the locking mechanism. However, it appears there are a lot of differences. The FCG is notably different, with trigger spring similar to an MP5(?). The bolt geometry is close, but not the same as a Stribog. As well, the locking lug is much bigger than a 'bog. From what I can see, this is not a licensed copy of the Grand Power design. Actually... it looks reverse-engineered. |

Especially at the price point. Price isn't crazy. Question is what recoil impulse is like. Having looked at the mass of the bolt, I don't have my hopes very high. But at 1100 if it recoiled like an MP5, yet with AR controls, and cheap mags, they would sell a ton. I think "roller delay" may just be marketing nonsense on these though (given what appears to be the reciprocating mass). But it will take some reviews for this to be made clear. |

I have seen people claiming $850 for the pistol without the brace. The internals appear to have excellent machining and the roller delay looks a little more robust than the Grand Power Stribog A3. I am willing to bet that the mags are likely better than Grand Power as well. |

The HS Produkt's excuse is the need to make a gun that can fire 10mm, which uses own magazines. That makes no sense at all. I see no obstacle to using their own mag in 10mm and Scorpion mag in 9mm. The mag release is 100% the "new" Scorpion mag, and that was on the market for more than a year already. |
