Im searching for a safe, I have been borrowing room in a friends safe.
So, I was looking around, and was looking at Cannon Safes, Winchester and Stack-On. Stack-On looked cheap to me, and Cannon looked the best. I want to keep it under 1k for a 20 gun safe. What is the best deal? |
| Cabelas has a Cannon Americaln Eagle that goes on sale once in a while I think for under a grand. They also have a Cabelas brand which is probably made by either Liberty or Cannon. If you live within driving distance, you can pick it up. I hauled my safe from Cabelas in the back of my Expedition. I got a safe a few years ago on sale, during a Club Event Weekend, with my Cabelas Visa + cashed in all my points. Saved a couple hundred dollars. If you shop there no sale, full retail you get screwed. Either of these safes is nicer than the Stack-on IMO. |

to the OP...
I too am looking for a safe. It seems that the thickest thing your are going to find is 10 ga. steel. That is a must have for me as well as a 1/2 inch steel door. Yes, I know it's prob. more than 1k$, but it's worht it considering what will be inside. |

However, amsec uses 10 gauge walls with 2" of concrete amalgamate and a 16 gauge inner, as well a 1/2" steel plate door on their BF line. If you're willing to spend the $$, that would be the minimum I'd consider. If you really plan on spending a lot, look at Brown, Graffinder, or any comercially rated safe, preferably a TL listed one. |

[/quoIe] I concur. The BF 6636 is very nice. |
